Once opened, sparkling wines tend to lose their fizz faster than still wines. While red and white wines can stay fresh for 3–5 days when stored correctly, sparkling wines usually hold their sparkle for just 1–3 days. To keep the bubbles going, use a proper sparkling wine stopper and pop the bottle back in the fridge after opening.

Sparkling wines are exceptionally versatile. Their crisp profile and delicate aromas make them an excellent accompaniment to a wide range of dishes—from seafood and salads to fried foods and light appetizers. They also work beautifully as an aperitif, enhancing the flavours of canapés and charcuterie, making any meal more enjoyable.

To maintain the quality and effervescence of your sparkling wine, store it in a cool, dark place at a consistent temperature (ideally between 10–15°C / 50–59°F). If your bottle is sealed with a cork, store it horizontally to keep the cork moist. This careful storage is especially important for wines produced by the traditional method, ensuring they retain their delicate aromas and vibrant character.
