      FAQ

What kind of wine is in Harlot cans? +
Harlot cans contain English sparkling wine made using the Charmat method — the same technique used to produce Prosecco. The range currently includes two expressions: Harlot Brut NV, a crisp white sparkling, and Harlot Brut Rosé NV, a delicate pink sparkling. Both are made from a blend of four grape varieties — Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay — sourced from vineyards in Kent and Essex. Each aluminium can contains 250ml of wine, equivalent to just under two standard glasses.
What is the Charmat method? +
The Charmat method — also known as the tank method, bulk method, or Martinotti — is a sparkling wine production technique where the second fermentation (the process that creates the bubbles) takes place in large, sealed stainless-steel tanks, rather than in individual bottles as in the traditional method used for Champagne. This approach is faster and more economical than bottle fermentation, and is particularly well suited to preserving fresh, vibrant fruit aromas — making it the ideal method for the bright, easy-drinking character of Harlot's English sparkling wines. Prosecco is the most famous wine made using the Charmat method worldwide.
Why choose wine in a can over wine in a bottle or box? +
Wine cans offer real advantages that neither a bottle nor a box can match. Each aluminium can is a single-serve format — perfectly portioned, sealed airtight, and ready to enjoy immediately, with no cork, no corkscrew, and no waste. Unlike Wine in a bottle, there is no risk of breakage, no leftover wine to store, and no need for a glass if you're outdoors. Unlike Wine in a box, each can is a fresh, individual serving that hasn't been open to air. The aluminium can also protects the wine completely from light and oxygen — both of which can damage wine over time. For picnics, festivals, outdoor events, and on-the-go moments, Harlot cans are the smartest choice.
What grape varieties are used in Harlot wines? +
Both Harlot Brut NV and Harlot Brut Rosé NV are made from a blend of four English grape varieties: Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. The grapes are sourced from vineyards in Kent and Essex — two of England's most established wine-growing counties. Bacchus, a grape variety native to Germany but widely planted in English vineyards, contributes fresh floral and citrus notes. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier bring structure and red fruit character, while Chardonnay adds elegance and fine bubble formation. Together, they create a distinctly English sparkling wine with genuine complexity — in an aluminium can.
Are Harlot cans suitable for people who love rosé? +
Harlot Brut Rosé NV was practically made for the Big Rosé Fan. With its delicate pink colour, fresh red berry aromatics, and crisp, dry finish, it delivers everything you love about a great rosé — in a format that goes anywhere you do. Whether it's a sunny afternoon in the garden, a festival, or a casual gathering with friends, Harlot Rosé brings the pleasure of a proper English sparkling rosé without the formality of a bottle. It's the same quality as Wine in a bottle — just more spontaneous.
Are Harlot cans a good option for gifting or special occasions? +
Harlot cans are a brilliant modern gift — unexpected, stylish, and genuinely delicious. Their bold, distinctive design makes them stand out immediately, and the quality of the English sparkling wine inside means they are far more than a novelty. A set of Harlot cans — white and rosé — makes a perfect addition to a gift hamper, a party favour for outdoor events, or a fun alternative to a standard canned wines selection. For Sauvignon Blanc fans looking for something different, or anyone who loves celebrating with bubbles in an informal setting, Harlot is the answer.
