      FAQ

How are non-alcoholic sparkling wines made? +
Non alcoholic sparkling wines start with fully fermented wine, then alcohol is gently removed using methods such as vacuum distillation, reverse osmosis, or spinning cone technology, while retaining aromatic and flavour compounds. Carbonation is then reintroduced either through natural fermentation or by adding CO₂ to create bubbles.
Do these wines taste like regular wine? +
Yes — and the best alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines come impressively close. Thanks to modern techniques and talented winemakers, many options today offer real wine character: think crisp acidity, gentle tannins, and expressive fruit notes. While they may be lighter in body, they still deliver balance, flavour, and that “wine moment” — just without the alcohol.
Are non alcoholic wines healthier or lower in calories? +
Non-alcoholic wines typically contain 30 to 50 kcal per 150 ml glass, compared to around 120 kcal for a standard glass — a 60% to 75% reduction, depending on the brand and style. By removing or reducing alcohol, you eliminate a major source of calories, which also lowers the impact on fat storage and reduces alcohol-related side effects like dehydration or cravings. Without alcohol, these wines avoid the negative effects linked to drinking. They often retain natural antioxidants, which can be beneficial for cardiovascular health. However, some may contain residual sugars to balance the lack of structure, so it’s a good idea to check the nutritional label if you’re monitoring your sugar intake.
How Should Non-Alcoholic Wine Be Stored? +
Since non-alcoholic wine undergoes an almost identical process to alcoholic wine, the rules for storing it are incredibly similar. Like alcoholic wine, non-alcoholic wine should be stored in an environment of a stable temperature and away from sunlight. Whether the non-alcoholic wine has a cork or a lid also plays a role in how it should be stored. Bottles with a cork require optimal humidity levels and should be stored horizontally. If the bottle has a lid, this isn’t as important, and the quality of the non-alcoholic wine shouldn’t be affected.
