Best Rosé Cocktails to Try This Summer

Best Rosé Cocktails to Try This Summer

There’s something about summer at The Wine Caverns that just begs for a glass of rosé in hand. Long days, golden evenings, and the sparkle of ice in a glass set the perfect backdrop for what’s fast becoming our seasonal favourite, the rosé cocktail. Whether you’re hosting a garden party, setting the table for a lazy Sunday brunch, or simply unwinding after work, these pink hued creations bring effortless charm to any occasion.

So why rosé wine, and why now? For us, it’s more than just a trend, it's the way rosé transforms from a laid back sipping wine into the hero of simple, refreshing cocktails. The best part? You don’t need a bar kit or a mixologist’s skills. Just one of our carefully chosen bottles, a handful of ice, and a few easy mixers you probably already have at home to create easy-to-make cocktail recipes.

Why Rosé Wine Works So Well in Cocktails

A Wine Caverns Classic

Our Provence rosés in particular shine with their crisp acidity and subtle fruit notes, think peach, pink grapefruit, or wild strawberries that lift both citrus and herbal flavours. Add soda for a light spritz, swirl in elderflower for a floral twist, or blend it up for a frozen treat.

Low Effort Big Impact

We’ve always loved wines that are as versatile as they are delicious, and rosé ticks both boxes. In a few quick steps, you can turn a casual glass into something special without any fuss.

Still or Sparkling Your Pick

Our collection covers both, so whether you’re in the mood for something celebratory with fizz or something laid back and still, you’ll find the right fit in The Wine Caverns range.

Our Favourite Rosé Cocktail Recipes

We’ve gathered five of our go to recipes. Each one is easy to make, delicious to sip, and guaranteed to make your summer entertaining shine.

1. Rosé Spritz

Light, bubbly, and slightly bitter—this is your go-to for chic, effortless evenings.

Preparation:

  1. Fill a large wine glass generously with ice cubes.
  2. Pour in 90 ml of rosé wine.
  3. Add 30 ml of Aperol for a bittersweet twist or elderflower cordial for a more floral, fragrant profile.
  4. Top with 90 ml of sparkling water to give it that refreshing fizz.
  5. Stir gently with a spoon to combine all ingredients.
  6. Garnish with a fresh orange slice or a few mint leaves for a zesty, vibrant finish.

2. Classic Frosé (Frozen Rosé)

A slushy twist that’s as fun to sip as it is to serve.

Preparation:

  1. Pour a bottle of rosé into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 6 hours or overnight, until it's slushy but not solid.
  2. Hull and slice the strawberries.
  3. In a blender, combine the frozen rosé, strawberries, lemon juice, and sweetener (sugar or honey).
  4. Blend until smooth. For a frostier texture, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again.
  5. Pour into a large wine or cocktail glass.
  6. Garnish with a strawberry slice or mint leaves. Serve immediately for maximum chill

3. Rosé Sangria

A fruit-forward, shareable option perfect for parties.

Preparation:

  1. Wash and slice your fruit into bite-sized pieces. Combine berries, peach slices, and orange wedges.
  2. In a large pitcher, add the fruit and pour in the rosé wine.
  3. Add brandy if desired for depth and complexity.
  4. Stir the mixture and let it rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour (or up to 4 hours) to allow the flavours to infuse.
  5. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice, pour in the sangria, and top each glass with a splash of chilled club soda.
  6. Garnish with extra citrus slices or a sprig of mint for visual flair.

4. Rosé Mimosa

The brunch essential—sparkling, citrusy, and always celebratory.

Preparation:

  1. In a flute or wine glass, pour 90 ml of chilled sparkling rosé.
  2. Slowly top up with an equal amount of fresh orange juice.
  3. Stir gently once to combine, but don’t overmix—let the bubbles shine.
  4. Garnish with a few raspberries or a fresh mint sprig for a festive touch.
  5. Serve immediately—best enjoyed with pancakes, pastries, or good company.

5. Rosé Margarita

A bold, zesty fusion of rosé and classic tequila.

Ingredients:

  • Rosé wine: 60 ml
  • Tequila: 45 ml
  • Lime juice: 30 ml
  • Triple sec: 15 ml
  • Salt (for the rim)
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish: Lime wedge and mint leaves

Preparation:

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into coarse salt to rim it.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice.
  3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until cold.
  4. Strain the mix into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Top up with the rosé wine and stir gently.
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge and a few mint leaves for extra freshness.
